- What's the difference between GEO and AEO?
- They overlap heavily and the industry uses them loosely. GEO (generative engine optimization) targets generative systems — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude — while AEO (answer engine optimization) targets answer surfaces like Google AI Overviews and featured snippets. In practice we run one program: the same measurement loop and mostly the same fixes win both.
- How do you measure results?
- Citation rate over repeated weekly checks: of your priority buyer questions, what share cite you on each engine, trended over time, plus share of voice against named competitors. Single checks are noise — engines answer the same question differently across runs — so everything reports as a trend.
- How long until we see movement?
- Faster engines (Perplexity, ChatGPT browsing) can pick up a genuinely better page within days to weeks. Google AI Overviews follow Google's index and move slower. We tell clients to expect first citation movement inside 60 days on at least one engine, with the caveat that nobody can guarantee non-deterministic systems.
- Do you replace our SEO agency?
- Not necessarily. Classic technical SEO still matters — every AI engine rides on a search index. If you have a solid SEO program, we add the citation layer on top and coordinate. If you don't, we cover the fundamentals as part of the work.
- What are your contract terms?
